These admissions are managed on behalf of Water Hall Primary School by Milton Keynes Council School Admissions Team.
In-Year admissions – apply directly through Water Hall Primary School
This is for people joining our school at any other time. When applying in-year for a place at our school, an in year application form must be completed for each child, you can contact our admissions team on 01908 377 833
We have a 45 published admission number (PAN) which means that our Reception classes will always be small. This academic year we have 2 classes of 14 and 17 in our large fully resourced unit. This ensures that the move for pupils from pre school, childminder, or home will be as fluid as possible. Our Early Years (EY) staff collaborate with all the providers of children joining our school.
Our school is a primary school – children can remain here at Water Hall from Nursery (3 years old) right up to Year 6 (11 years old).
Being part of The Tove Learning Trust ensures that our school is supported as part of a collaborative approach which has a commitment and energy to ensure that our aim of providing inspiring provision and ensuring that all students achieve as highly as possible. We all work hard to offer stimulating environments that enable every learner to progress and flourish.
Children transfer from our school to a variety of secondary schools across the county, including our catchment secondary Sir Herbert Leon and Lord Grey, which is part of Tove Learning Trust.
We have 2 small Reception classes – Oak and Plum
There are 30 or less pupils in the following classes:
- 3 classes of mixed Year 1/2 children
- 3 classes of mixed Year 3/4 children
- 3 classes of mixed Year 5/6 children
We are classed as a new school.
Although our most recent Ofsted report was Inadequate, since this we have many new staff, a new Trust and Academy Improvement Board (AIB) to continue with us in our rapid journey of improvement.
The gates currently open at 8.30am (due to Covid), children need to be in class by 8.45am.
School collection is currently between 3.20pm and 3.30pm Monday to Thursday and 2.20pm and 2.20pm on Fridays.
Pre Covid our finishing time was 3.30pm or 2.30pm on Fridays.
Pre Covid we ran a breakfast club for pupils starting at 8.15am.
Our current plans for times after Covid include extending breakfast to start earlier and offering a range of after school clubs.
Each child will have a mid-morning snack of fruit or vegetable provided as part of the free fruit Government scheme. Children should have a named bottle of water with them.
All Reception and KS1 children are provided with a hot free school meal via the Universal Free School Meals scheme or you can send in a packed cold lunch for lunchtime if you prefer.
Reception children are also provided with free milk via the Cool Milk scheme.
In the first instance, always talk to your child’s class teacher. We also have our Family Support Workers who can support with a variety of school and home based issues or access services who can help.
We have two formal parent’s evenings and an end of year report.
In Reception, there are always opportunities to speak to the class teacher both informally and on a more formal basis: we also have a home communication book that enables messages to be passed between home and school.
We see communication as a two way process, and it is important for parents and families to keep us updated of anything that may impact on their child’s education or wellbeing.
Yes, details of this are available on our website. Sweatshirts, PE T shirts, book bags and plimsoll can be purchased from the School Office.
